Recent Ophiuchus Questions and Answers

(Paraphrased in most cases)

Can we still do off-the-cuff missions or do they need to be assigned? You may absolutely do off-the-cuff missions! Things like: telling this team to go screw with that one... go steal something, prank, get me this item, etc... these are all great ways of getting points without memories (especially if your memory registry is getting a little lean.) If you WANT a memory for them, contact one of the three Ophi mods and we’ll work something out for you.

How do single person missions/favors count in the new system? They are considered a trade rather than a mission, and while you may request a special item to fulfill it, it will not count for points or memories.

Do mission requests have to be on-screen? Nope! You may ping Nishi, Kururu or Kirk at any time (or email sabra.la.mods at gmail with Solo Mission Request in the subject line if none of us are available or if you don’t use IRC) to ask for a mission. We will get a volunteer team for you. If you have an idea for a mission, that is super awesome! Tell us what it is and we will relate it to an appropriate Judge like you’ve seen in that first post. If you don’t we may be able to come up with some ideas for you!

Similarly, if you want the request to be played out on-screen, just link one of us to the thread/post you’re approaching in, and we’ll go play with you.

So missions are offerings to the Judges. Does this mean a Judge’s player needs to be involved? Absolutely not! You may if you like, but these missions done in offering TO the Judges. You don’t need a Judge involved to do the offering.

However, if the current players of Judges could give Nishi a list of what their Judges like/hold sacred/pleases them. She will love you forever with her black, stolen heart. This super helps with ideas and mission assignments.

Does the token mark from a Judge HAVE to be on the back of the hand? No, if you prefer it can show up anywhere else for you. It does have to be visible and to turn it in, you have to put it in the fire, so ... lets just say, for the sake of flexibility choose your location wisely.

Now that things are changing, does my character lose all the things they’ve earned or horded? No, you keep anything you had.

If my character wants fresh food, such as meat, that is not on the ration list, how do they get it? If they want still bloody, or even non-jerky meat, they will have to go hunt for it. Or bully/trade/bribe some regular Blanks for their hunt. The same goes for any Sabra available food that is not specifically listed. There may still be Judge granted tasties now and then.

What kind of questions will the Guardian answer? You will have to try that yourself. :)

What if my character wants a special item for their own use? Depending on the item, and your standings in Ophiuchus, you may either be granted it outright, denied outright, or given a task yourself to receive it. Like any time you ask for a favor, timing is everything.

My character is under-powered in Sabra and could get trounced in rule enforcement even with tasers. Rule enforcement isn’t the only thing you can do, but it IS one of the easier ones. Besides your handy, dandy, always just right power tasers, we are working on doing a little bit of a power boost. This system is still being hammered out, so stay tuned!
